Ria's compliance department is the best-in-class global anti-money laundering (AML) and anti-terrorist financing (ATF) compliance department. For this reason, we strive to support the growth of our business with the reinforcement of our compliance department. Our future Portugal Compliance Officer will work in all over the country and will report his/her activity to the Spain Compliance Officer based in Madrid.

In order to establish and implement risk-based policies, procedures, and processes to comply with local laws, the Compliance Department is dedicated to provide support and ongoing guidance regarding AML/CFT policies, as well as our own procedures.

This is a home-based position in Portugal, the principal mission of the candidate is to be responsible for developing, implementing and administering all aspects of the company’s Compliance Management Program in Portugal.

· He/she will plan, organize and control the day-to-day administrative and operational compliance activities; training of the employees and of the clients, collaborate with the Senior Management in the overall administration of these activities for the company.

· He/she will liaise with local regulators Banco de Portugal, the Financial Intelligence Units and other relevant authorities in order to meet the company’s regulatory obligations.

· He/she will also advise the Board of Directors, Senior Management and other personnel of emerging compliance issues and consults and guide the company in the establishment of controls to mitigate risks.

The successful applicant will need: 

- Master’s degree in law, business or a related field

- At least 3 years of proven working experience in the financial or legal sector, 2 of which preferably in compliance in a financial environment.
- The ability to use his/her knowledge or high capacity to understand and apply the various legal systems applicable in Portugal.
- Be fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese (mandatory).
- Strong team player with excellent communications skills, he/she will have the ability to use initiative and work with minimal supervision. 
- Used to work through short deadlines and under pressure, he/she also will have the ability to set up new activities, tackling issues quickly and efficiently.
